This Museum explains the role the Chesapeake Bay environment had in shaping the cultures of Bayside communities from prehistoric times to the present. Through research and interpretation of collections, the Museum promotes stewardship of this heritage for future generations.
Directions:
Route 4 south. Turn left onto Chesapeake Beach Road (MD 260). Proceed 5 miles to Chesapeake Beach. Turn left onto Chesapeake Avenue (MD 261). Turn left on 9th Street. Turn right on Dayton Avenue.
Admission: Free.
Hours:
Sunday 1-4 pm. Open at other times by special request.

In the only museum on the East Coast that is home to two lighthouses, rich maritime history and diversity of life in the Chesapeake Bay come alive. See a skates and rays exhibit, models, paintings, woodcarvings, aquariums, fossils and boats. Outdoor exhibits include a boat basin, river otter habitat and a recreated salt marsh.

Route 4 south. Take right lane exit just before the Thomas Johnson Bridge. Turn left at the stop sign. Proceed ½ block to the museum.
Admission:
Adults $7.
Seniors 55+ $6.
Children 5-12 $2.
Children under 5 free.
Hours:
Daily 10 am - 5 pm.
Closed New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The early history of the Chesapeake Beach Railway Company and Amusement Park is detailed in a collection of historical photos and artifacts from the days when summer crowds traveled to the Chesapeake Beach resort via the railroad. Today, the Railway's only remaining station houses the museum, which displays resort life and transportation from the early 1900s. The museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Route 4 south. Turn left onto Chesapeake Beach Road (MD 260). Proceed 5 miles to Chesapeake Beach. Turn right onto Bayside Road (MD 261). Railway Museum is on left at Mears Avenue

Hours:
April- October: daily 1 - 4 pm.
Extended weekend hours June - August: 11am - 5pm.
Mid-March and November: Saturdays and Sundays only, 1 - 4 pm.
Pre-scheduled visits are encouraged during off-season.

Visit this restored 1934 seafood-packing house to learn about the boom and decline of the region's commercial seafood industries. See the tools and gear used by local watermen to harvest seafood. The boat-building exhibit portrays the present traditions of wooden workboat building in the region. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Directions: Route 4 south. Take right lane exit just before the Thomas Johnson Bridge. Turn left at the stop sign. House is located approximately .50 mile on left.
Admission: Free.
Hours: Closed in 2008 for renovations! June - August: Monday - Friday 12:30 - 4:30 pm., weekends 10 am - noon and 1 - 4:30 pm.
May and September, weekends and holidays: 10 am - noon and 1 - 4:30 pm.

Experience, discover, learn and have fun on 560 acres overlooking the Patuxent River and St. Leonard Creek. Over 70 archaeological sites have been identified on the property reflecting over 12,000 years of human occupation. The Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to research, conservation and storage of Maryland artifacts, is located on the grounds. Visitor and Exhibit Center, Discovery Room, hiking trails, recreated Eastern Woodland Indian Village, tours, educational programs, workshops, canoe and kayak launch, picnic area, pavilion rental for private functions. Limited wheelchair access.
Directions: Route 4 south, approximately 3 miles south of Prince Frederick. Turn right onto Broomes Island Road (MD 264). Proceed approximately 2 miles. Turn left onto Mackall Road (MD 265). Proceed 6 miles. Turn right into Park.

Port Republic School No. 7 has been in this shady grove for more than 100 years. Authentically preserved, the schoolhouse is filled with memorabilia.

Route 4 south, approximately 3 miles south of Prince Frederick. Turn right onto Broomes Island Road (MD 264). Proceed approximately .25 mile. Turn left at Christ Church. The Schoolhouse is located on the grounds of Christ Church.
Admission: Free.

June - August: Sundays 2 - 4 pm.
Special visits may be arranged.
