This Bayfront park featuring swimming, fishing, picnicking and seasonal, monthly and daily camping is the perfect getaway for daytrips. Campers can stay at a Bayfront campsite all weekend or all week. See Campgrounds Section for camping information. No pets allowed on beach or in campground. Beach wheelchair available with prior notice.
Directions:
Route 4 south. Turn left onto Chesapeake Beach Road (MD 260) to Chesapeake Beach. Proceed approximately 9 miles. Turn right onto Bayside Road (MD 261). Proceed 5 miles. Turn left onto Breezy Point Road at green Breezy Point sign. Proceed 1 mile to entrance.

Daily May 1 - October 31.

Hike through this 1,460-acre wooded state park to the majestic Calvert Cliffs on the Chesapeake Bay. Formed over 15 million years ago, the cliffs contain more than 600 species of fossils. The park is ideal for hiking, picnicking, fishing, and fossil hunting. There is a 45-minute walk (two miles) to the beach. The area under the cliffs is closed due to landslide activity, but fossil collecting can be done along the open beach where there are no cliffs. Large tire park. Call for information on pavilion rental (fee), youth group camping or hunting. Limited access is available for wheelchairs.
Directions: Route 4 south, approximately 14 miles south of Prince Frederick. Turn left at Calvert Cliffs State Park sign. Park entrance is on H.G. Trueman Road.
Admission: $5 per vehicle (donation) for Maryland residents.
$6 per vehicle for non-residents.

Once a pound-net fishing station on the Chesapeake Bay, the park displays a remarkable variety of natural environments from sandy beaches to freshwater ponds and the forested heights of Calvert Cliffs. Hiking trails, fossil hunting, observation platforms, wetland boardwalk, fishing pier, the beach and visitors center with wildlife exhibits. Picnic tables and grills are provided. No lifeguards or nettle nets. Swim at your own risk. Limited wheelchair access.
Directions: Route 4 south, 10 miles south of Prince Frederick. Turn left onto Flag Ponds Parkway.

April - October: Resident $4; Non-Resident $6.
November - March: $3 for all.
Hours:
Memorial Day - Labor Day: Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm; Saturday and Sunday 9am - 8pm. Labor Day - Memorial Day: Saturday and Sunday 9am - 5pm.
