Jasper's American Grille Coming to Prince Frederick

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- October 25, 2006 - Jasper’s American Grille, one of the Washington area’s favorite eateries, broke ground on a new, 10,300 square foot building in Westlake Commercial Center, across from the Prince Frederick Firehouse, on September 25, 2006. The restaurant and bar will be the fifth Washington metropolitan location for the small chain that was started in Greenbelt in the 1980s.

Featuring hickory-wood cooking, an open kitchen format, a bar with plasma screen televisions and four different dining areas, one of which can accommodate private functions, the restaurant will seat up to 325 people and employ about 125. David Goldberg, the proprietor/developer, is happy that his dream of restaurant ownership is about to come true. “We expect to be open by the end of the first quarter of 2007,” he said. “The combination of a fun, neighborhood restaurant, with a local watering hole, makes Jasper’s the ideal restaurant for a major town center like Prince Frederick. I envision a place where families, couples, office workers and good friends can come to enjoy good, fresh-grilled food in a casual and fun atmosphere.”

Goldberg, a Calvert County resident and developer, is hopeful that the first Southern Maryland location of Jasper’s American Grille will create a following for loyal customers that leads to additional outlets. “My ultimate goal is to create a national brand and develop a powerful investment team that will be able to compete with other national brands such as Outback Steakhouse, Chili’s, and The Cheesecake Factory,” he says.
