Calvert County Department of Economic Development Seeking Long-Standing Businesses

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- March 29, 2006 - The Calvert County Department of Economic Development will celebrate business May 8-12, 2006, during the first annual Business Appreciation Week and they are looking for the County’s longest-standing businesses to include in the festivities. If you own a Calvert County business – or know someone who does – that has been in continuous operation for at least 25 years, please contact the Department with details.

Business Appreciation Week will feature special events, workshops and personal visits by the Board of County Commissioners to some of those Calvert businesses with the most staying power. Activities are planned for business owners along the whole spectrum, from those who are just thinking about starting a business to those who have been in operation for many years. There will be ample opportunity for people to interact and network, including a special kick-off breakfast on Monday, May 8 and a wrap-up golf tournament at Chesapeake Hills Golf Course on Friday, May 12.
