PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- January 20, 2006 - The Calvert County, Md. Department of Economic Development is pleased to co-sponsor the second in a series of free economic empowerment workshops, along with the Concerned Black Women (CBW) of Calvert County. Aimed at improving the economic well-being of Calvert County’s citizens, the next workshop, entitled “Financial Planning – It Takes Money, Honey,” will be held on Thursday, February 16, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Prince Frederick Library.
Presenter Edsel M. Brown, Jr. of Edsel M. Brown, Jr. Advisors, and a member of the Calvert County Economic Development Commission, plans to pack the hour and a-half session with as much financial information as possible. “Most people have a lot of misconceptions and questions when it comes to managing their money,” he said. “Often, it just takes a little bit of knowledge and a solid financial plan for people to create a strategy for financial success.” Whether your goal involves planning for retirement, saving for college, becoming debt-free or learning how best to manage your investments, Brown will provide advice and information to help you make progress.
