C-Bay Partners with Chesapeake Bay Foundation to Benefit Conservation Programs

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- November 27, 2005 - Brian McMahon is a local entrepreneur who recognizes the importance of partnerships. As a retired restaurateur, he currently owns C-Bay, an online store filled with merchandise, clothing and gear celebrating life in Bay country. Recently, he entered into a partnership that promises to further benefit the country’s largest estuary. As a result of this newly forged opportunity, C-Bay pledges to donate 5 percent of each sale to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) and their Save the Bay campaign, dedicated to preserving the natural beauty and bounty of the Chesapeake Bay.

CBF is a leading organization in the effort to save the Chesapeake Bay through environmental education, habitat protection, the restoration of natural resources and outreach. CBF, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) has more than 140,000 members, and works to restore the Bay’s health by reducing pollution, restoring habitat and replenishing fisheries.

McMahon, a staunch advocate of the Chesapeake Bay, is pleased with the relationship he has formed with CBF. “This opportunity allows me to use proceeds from my business operations to further enhance and improve the waters which are so vital to the State of Maryland,” he said. “It’s a win-win situation – the more merchandise I sell through C-Bay means the more donations I can make to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. It also provides a ‘feel good’ for my customers as they realize that they, too, can help make a difference.”

C-Bay was started early this year by McMahon and the company sells a variety of merchandise with the distinctive C-Bay logo including shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, ball caps, stickers and bandanas.
