Calvert County Has a New Place to Party and Meet - the Huntingtown Firehouse
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- November 15, 2005 - Nearly one year to the day from the date construction began, the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department received a Use and Occupancy Permit for their new 4,290 square foot banquet and conference center, and the crew couldn’t be more excited.
Sandy Dugan, Director of Hall Rentals, gives tours of the new facility like a proud, new homeowner showing off her living room. “Isn’t it just beautiful?” she beams. “The large cathedral windows are so attractive, the lighting can be adjusted perfectly for any occasion from an intimate wedding to a large business seminar and I think the chandelier is just magnificent.”
The facility seats 300 comfortably at round or square tables and is outfitted with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, a bar area, portable dance floor and ice machines. An exclusive and well-respected local caterer, Expressions Catering of Owings, provides all the food and beverage services.
Rental prices vary based on the amount of space needed, length of event and any ancillary services that are required such as food or beverages. Dugan is prepared to work with interested individuals to help them plan and organize their events – even those on a budget. “The prices we charge are very competitive for a facility of this size and quality and I’m confident we can accommodate nearly anyone or any event,” she said.
Assistant Chief Jonathan Riffe is very pleased with completion of the massive new facility. “The entire building is nearly three times the size of our original building and took a great deal of effort from a lot of people to complete so quickly,” he said. “This banquet hall will provide us with another way to raise funds for our firehouse and it is our expectation that rental proceeds will allow us to stay up-to-date with critical equipment and crew training. As an added bonus, it also allows us to further service the community by offering a beautiful place for meetings, banquets and conferences,” he said.
Dugan is certain the facility will be a welcomed addition to Calvert County. “We’re centrally located – a happy medium between the north and south ends of the County – so we’re extremely convenient for all kinds of community events,” she said. “I look forward to having this facility booked throughout the year with weddings, business conferences, club meetings, classes, recitals and office holiday parties,” she said.
The Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department is located in Huntingtown, Md. at 4030 Old Town Road.
