Business Success Stories Sought by Calvert County, Md. Department of Economic Development
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- July 5, 2005 -- The Calvert County, Maryland Department of Economic Development (DED) wants local businesses to get the attention they deserve. Calvert County’s business owners are encouraged to send corporate success stories and news items for possible inclusion in the Department’s outreach and marketing materials like the Web site, quarterly newsletter and press releases. Linda Vassallo, director of the Calvert County Department of Economic Development said, “We know that many of Calvert’s businesses are doing innovative things, achieving their goals and growing and managing great companies. One of our jobs is to help get the word out about these successes and encourage continued growth.”
With a new business retention specialist expected to be on staff by fall, the DED’s outreach efforts to the local business community will increase even further. Vassallo said, “Our new business retention specialist will be responsible for meeting regularly with Calvert business owners, helping identify and solve any obstacles they may be experiencing and bringing success stories back so we can highlight them on our Web site and in the news.”
