Small Businesses Sought for $84.5 Million Project at Patuxent River Naval Air Station
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- May 20, 2005 -- Hensel Phelps Construction Company was recently awarded a contract for $84.5 million to build the VXX Helicopter Facility at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, Md. On Tuesday, May 24, at 2:30 p.m., representatives from Hensel Phelps will be available at the St. Mary's County Airport Building in California, Md. to discuss the process for identifying qualified local small businesses to serve as vendors and subcontractors on this project.
The company is particularly interested in locating subcontractors and vendors in the following areas: fencing, landscaping, masonry, miscellaneous metals, rough carpentry, millwork, metal panels, roofing spray-on fireproofing, caulking and sealants, specialty doors and hatches, hollow metal doors and frames, wood doors, builder's hardware, glass and glazing, ceramic and stone tile, drywall, acoustical ceilings and wall treatments, resilient and carpet, painting, resinous flooring, louvers, raised access flooring and building specialties.

Assistance is available through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) and the Calvert County, Md.
