Friday Night "Feast and Fun" at the Calvert Country Market

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- January 31, 2005 -- Calvert County residents have a new place to spend their Friday nights – the Calvert Country Market (CCM). The Calvert County, Maryland Department of Economic Development is pleased to announce that CCM, located in the Prince Frederick Shopping Center, now offers an all-you-can-eat buffet on Friday nights in addition to workshops on knitting, ceramics, wood turning and polymer clay design.

Mark Mozier, owner of the Calvert Super Deli, has teamed with NZN Quality Produce and Captain Smith’s Seafood to offer a bountiful buffet of Southern Maryland favorites, including four main courses, vegetables, salad, potatoes, pasta, bread and more. At $12.99 for adults, $10.99 for seniors 60 or better and $6.99 for children under ten, the Friday dinner buffet is a true bargain feast.

For those who enjoy Friday night activities, four CCM vendors offer workshops in the creative arts. Nancy Donley of Ch’Naca Farm and Fiberworks hosts Friday night knitting and weaving programs for experts and novices alike. Debbie Weimert of DayDreamerDebbie (3D) holds workshops in polymer clay and teaches the finer aspects of figurine design and characterization. For those who want to learn the special techniques of wood turning, Mike O’Kelley of Exotic Wood Products, shares his expert tricks and tips and Diane Krolczyk of Diane’s Ceramic Shoppe guides artisans in designing special ceramic keepsakes. Prices vary for supplies with each artisan and advance registration is required.
