Calvert County, Maryland Department of Economic Development Receives Multiple Business Awards

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- September 27, 2004 -- The Calvert County Department of Economic Development is pleased to announce that it received top honors at the Northeastern Economic Developers Association’s (NEDA) 48th Annual Conference in Boston, Mass., last week.

In the category of Literature and Promotion Awards, Calvert was recognized for several projects completed over the past year:

Danita Boonchaisri, marketing and communications specialist, accepted the awards in Boston on behalf of the Department. “It is especially rewarding to be recognized by your peers for providing products that are innovative, interesting and well-conceived,” said Boonchaisri.

NEDA was formed in 1956 to promote economic and industrial development in the Northeastern region of the United States. The association encourages the informal exchange of ideas and serves as a medium by which its members can benefit from the experiences of other professionals. Members represent a wide variety of disciplines including economic development, banking, real-estate brokerage, law, engineering and environmental consulting.
