Mom's in the Kitchen Cafe Hosts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- August 24, 2004 -- The Calvert County, Maryland Department of Economic Development announced that Mom’s in the Kitchen Café hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony today at their new facility in the Prince Frederick Shopping Center.
Café owner, Trish Weaver, said, “We are very proud to be a part of the Calvert County community, offering healthy, exciting dining choices – whether for lunch, happy hour, or Sunday brunch.” Weaver, a long-time County caterer and formerly associated with Robert’s Deli on Dares Beach Road, is pleased to have her own homespun café where she can offer a wide selection of delicacies like tortilla wraps, crab quiche, salads, soup and made-to-order sandwiches on foccacia, pita bread, Kaiser rolls, baguettes, croissants or multi-grain bread. In addition to signature sandwiches with names like “Earth Mother,” “Uptown Momma” and “Mom’s on the Beach,” the Café also has a wide selection of delectable desserts like brownies, carrot cake and pie of the day. “It’s been a dream of mine to have a friendly, upscale café in this community,” said Weaver. “I wanted to create a place where people would enjoy meeting, chatting and eating healthy home-style food in a casual atmosphere.”
Located at 114 S. Solomons Island Road in the Prince Frederick Shopping Center, the beautiful 4,000 sq. ft. Tuscan-style restaurant officially opened its doors in early July and currently has 25 employees. In addition to dining-room seating for 40, the Café has a private meeting room where groups of 25 can meet and dine from their own custom-made menu with personalized service.
