Calvert County Department of Economic Development Conducting 2004 Commuter Survey

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- July 01, 2004 -- Are you part of the nearly 60 percent of Calvert’s work force who endures long commutes each day to other Maryland counties, Virginia or the District of Columbia? If so, the Calvert County, Maryland Department of Economic Development is looking for you to participate in the annual Commuter Survey to study the commuting patterns of Calvert’s workers.

The data collected in the survey will assist the Department of Economic Development and other government agencies in creating marketing programs to attract businesses in targeted industries that can provide similar jobs here in the County. Results will also be used to enhance telecommuting programs and determine the overall transportation patterns of the County’s workers. All responses are confidential and the survey only takes a moment to complete.

Final results will be made available to the public online and in the Department’s fall 2004 newsletter. The deadline for completion has been extended to August 13, 2004.
