Meet Pork Chop, Polka Dot and Horatio at the Calvert Country Market
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- February 13, 2004 -- The Calvert County Department of Economic Development announced today that Angela Ford, author of “A Collection of Children’s Stories” will be signing and selling her book on Saturday, February 21, 2004 from 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at the Calvert Country Market (CCM) in the Prince Frederick Shopping Center, Prince Frederick, Maryland. The book will be offered at a special rate for the event: hard cover $17.50, soft cover $10.00. Angela Ford is a resident of Dunkirk, Maryland and has been writing children’s stories for eight years.
“A Collection of Children’s Stories” offers wonderful characters that belong to a world existing only in children’s minds. Like all good tales tailored for the young, these stories breach the limits of everyday reality while helping everyday reality make sense for kids. Readers get to meet baby elephant Horatio who loves to attend children’s tea parties, but he is too big to fit into a room. There is a little of Horatio in everyone. His struggles to fit in are heartwarming and teach children what it means to belong.
Other delightful tales contained in this collection include the love story of two dogs named Pork Chop and Polka Dot and a story about the bell that simply would not ring - a play on identity. Readers can also ride along on the adventures of a boy named Johnny and his plane named Myrtle as they visit many places, meet interesting characters, and see new sights.
