Hurricane Relief Fund Established for North Beach/Chesapeake Beach Businesses
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- September 26 , 2003 -- The Department of Economic Development (DED) announced today that due to extensive damage incurred by local businesses as a result of Hurricane Isabel, a Hurricane Relief Fund is being established to assist businesses located in the North Beach / Chesapeake Beach areas of Calvert County.
Business professionals in the North Beach / Chesapeake Beach area whose businesses were unaffected by the hurricane took it upon themselves to organize the fund as a way to assist the local businesses that were hardest hit by the storm. Money will be collected and distributed to businesses in need in the Beaches. Short-term grants will also be made available to businesses within the Beaches affected by Isabel. The fund is being administered by Calvert Bank & Trust.
All donations to the fund should be sent to: BEACH BUSINESS HURRICANE RELIEF FUND, c/o Calvert Bank & Trust, P.O. Box 480, Chesapeake Beach, MD 20732. Make checks payable to "Beach Hurricane Relief Fund."
