Child Care Facility Expands

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- August 05, 2003 -- The Calvert County Department of Economic Development (DED) announced that a ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Tuesday, August 5, 2003 for the newly expanded Grover Place Child Care facility located at 4740 St. Leonard Rd., St. Leonard, Maryland.

Grover Place, operated by Tammy and Tim Grover, opened in 1997. The facility at that time could accommodate up to 30 children. An increase in demand for a before and after school program resulted in the expansion and renovations that took place and were finished in October of 2002. The childcare facility now has the capacity for up to 58 children.

The facility has three classrooms for ages 2-15. There is a two and three year old classroom, preschool program and before and after program. The facility has full and part-time childcare available. The before and after school program is equipped with two new computers with printers, a wide array of craft activities, an ample library, game room with air hockey, PlayStation, and board games. In addition, a large playground entails an Amish built boat and castle and a large basketball court with room to run and play.

Grover Place Child Care is especially proud of its experienced staff that provides the children with love and care. "We provide a safe, nurturing and consistent care environment to the children of our community," said Tammy Grover, owner. "We guide them by example on how they are to grow in the world around them. We also accept the differences in each child and appreciate their diversity so that they may thrive and develop a great self esteem."
