YMCA Opens Office in Prince Frederick

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- April 04 , 2003 -- The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington and the Calvert County Department of Economic Development announced today that the YMCA has opened a site office at 250 Merrimac Court, Suite 5, Prince Frederick, MD. Office hours will be Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. The YMCA invites Calvert County residents to stop by and learn more about the facility that will be located at the Old Fairground Property, Fairground Road, Prince Frederick.

YMCA representatives are in the process of meeting with school officials to plan after- care programs that would begin in the fall. In addition, the capital campaign will begin shortly to raise the needed money for the new facility. The site office will allow the YMCA to be closer to the project and the citizens of Calvert County.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is the 17th largest YMCA in North America and the largest non-profit provider of childcare in the Washington Metropolitan area. The association operates more than 20 branches and program centers in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia and is open to people of all ages, faiths, races and cultural backgrounds, regardless of ability to pay.
