Jeneva's Cakes Relocates to the Penwick House
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- March 25 , 2003 -- The Calvert County Department of Economic Development (DED) announced today that Jeneva’s Cakes received a $25,000 loan from the Calvert Economic Development Loan Fund (CEDLF) to cover equipment costs needed for their business relocation to the Penwick House located at 2960 Penwick Lane, Dunkirk, Maryland. "We were looking for a larger facility to allow for our increased sales, but were unable to find adequate, available space. Fortunately, after contacting the DED they conducted research on the Penwick House and its availability. Jim Shepherd of the DED contacted the owners, discussed our needs, and we had an agreement in place within a couple of weeks. It was the help we received from the DED and the Maryland Small Business Development Center that made this expansion possible. We are grateful for their help and excited about our new opportunity," said John Remson of Jeneva’s Cakes.
