Calvert Country Market, Inc. Proves To Be A Great Success
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- August 13, 2002 -- The Calvert Country Market announced today that they have reached their vendor capacity for 2002. The Calvert County Farm Bureau and Captain Smith’s Seafood have filled the last two of the 17 stalls that were available earlier this year.
The Calvert Country Market opened on June 29, 2002 in the Prince Frederick Shopping Center. Since that time the Market has proven to be a great success with many of the vendors coming close to selling out of their goods before the end of the day. "We are grateful for the positive community support we continue to receive," said Kevin Owen, Calvert Country Market Manager. "Many of our vendors have commented that this is their best year ever, despite the drought that falls on the county."
On any given day at the market you will be sure to see from our vendors; locally grown fresh produce, berries, flowers, herbs, baked goods, honey, vegetable plants, fresh seafood and much more. Local artisans/crafters rent six of the seventeen stalls and display a variety of items for sale, including hand made jewelry, stained glass, ceramics, silk and dried floral arrangements, custom framing and herbal lotions and soaps.
The Market will remain open through December 24th for the holiday season. Hours of operation are Wednesday 4-7pm, Saturday 9am-6pm, and Sunday 10am-6pm. The Calvert Country Market will begin accepting applications in late September for the 2003 season.
