Free Telecommunication Forums Being Offered to Calvert County Businesses
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- May 9, 2002 -- The Calvert County Department of Economic Development and the Calvert County Chamber of Commerce will host two telecommunication forums. Small businesses and home based businesses rely more and more on the internet to conduct business and those who are not now utilizing this valuable resource are exploring methods of doing so. Knowledgeable experts from Verizon and Comcast will discuss technology solutions and opportunities and will be available to help small/home based businesses in Calvert learn more about the resources that are available to them.
The first Telecom Forum will be held on Thursday, May 23. Verizon representatives will discuss their plan to offer long distance service in Maryland, telecom products and services that can save businesses time and money, wireless opportunities and other useful information. Representatives from Comcast will be available on Thursday, May 30 providing information on the various services available to small businesses from the Comcast Business Services Division.
Both Telecom Forums are open to any Calvert County business and will be held from 8:30 – 10:00a.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Prince Frederick. Reservations for the Verizon Forum must be received by Monday, May 20. The deadline to register for the Comcast Forum is Tuesday, May 28. Admission is free. Seating is limited. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED.
