McCrea Equipment Company Opens Operations at the Calvert County Industrial Park
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- November 29, 2001 -- The Calvert County Economic Development Authority (EDA) announced today that McCrea Equipment Company, a heating and air conditioning contractor in the Baltimore Washington metropolitan area, would move its Owings, Md., operations to the Calvert County Industrial Park (CCIP) in Prince Frederick. McCrea Equipment, the oldest and largest HVAC Company in the metropolitan area, has been in business since 1936 with an employee base in excess of 275 individuals.
Construction of the 20,000 square foot facility will begin spring 2002; McCrea will occupy 10,000 square feet. The additional 10,000 square feet will be made available for lease and expansion purposes. McCrea’s CCIP location will employ approximately 30 individuals, and eventually double the number of employees to 60, according to their business plan.
The Calvert County Industrial Park consists of 226 acres divided into 45 lots. The park is the largest full-scale industrial park in the County and is designated as a Maryland Enterprise Zone. The Calvert County Industrial Park is currently the only Enterprise Zone in Southern Maryland. The average lot size is 2.5 acres. The Park is located five miles west of Prince Frederick and 32 miles from the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The EDA is responsible for promoting quality economic development Countywide and is the sole owner and manager of the Calvert County Industrial Park.
