Wireless Technology Seminar Offered
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- May 7, 2001 -- on May 23, 2001 from 5:30 to 8:00pm individuals can discover how wireless networking can benefit their business at the Holiday Inn Express in Prince Frederick. The seminar is sponsored by the Calvert County Chamber of Commerce Information Technology Committee and the Calvert County Department of Economic Development.
Fred Brechbiel, President/CEO of Southern Maryland Internet, will present "Wireless Internet." High-speed Internet without phone lines or cables? Its true! Local businesses in Southern Maryland will soon be able to purchase super high-speed Internet access for the entire office without the need for special high-speed data lines like DSL, ISDN or cable.
Frank Smith, VP Information Systems of Idea Solutions, will present "Wireless Networking." Mr. Smith will discuss a wireless networking technology called WiFi. This technology is ideal if an individual or organization needs a network but does not want have the resources or time to run wires. This technology is also effective if an individual or organization would like to use a portable computer anywhere in their respective building.
Seating is limited and registration is required. Price is $20 per person for Chamber Members and $25 per person for Non-Members.
