CSM To Offer Courses on Starting Your Own Small Business
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- February 15, 2001 -- The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) is offering two continuing education courses designed to provide assistance to those interested in starting a small business or home based business.
"How to Start Your Own Small Business" is a two-day course. The first class will be held on Tuesday, February 27 from 5:00-7:00 PM, at the College of Southern Maryland, Prince Frederick Campus, on Broomes Island Road. The second class will be held on Friday, March 30 from 1:00-4:00PM at the La Plata Campus. This introductory course will address both the legal and business startup issues that face entrepreneurs. Most of the forms needed to launch your own business are included in the course handouts. Tuition is $22.00.
CSM is also offering a two-day course entitled "Starting and Operating a Home Based Business". This course addresses business startup issues such as financial planning, taxes, insurance, licensing, marketing, permits and financing. The follow-up session includes Writing a Business Plan. This course will begin on Wednesday, March 7 from 9:30AM-12:30PM at the Prince Frederick Campus, and will conclude on Friday, March 30 from 1:00-4:00PM at the La Plata Campus. The course will be offered a second time on April 26 & 27. Tuition is $26.00.
