Linda S. Vassallo Appointed Director of Calvert County Department of Economic Development

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- November 24, 1999 -- In a recent action, the Board of County Commissioners appointed Linda S. Vassallo as Director of Economic Development. Prior to her appointment as Director, Ms. Vassallo served as the County's Marketing and Communications Specialist. She has been with the County since April of 1996.

Linda Kelley, President of the Board of County Commissioners, stated that: "We have every confidence in Ms. Vassallo's ability to provide dynamic leadership in the area of economic development. She has amply demonstrated her commitment and capability in this area. We expect that under her leadership, the County's economic development initiatives will continue to develop and expand."

Prior to coming to Calvert County, Ms. Vassallo worked for the United States Enrichment Corporation as a Communications Associate. She also served as the Public Information Specialist for SAIC, as a Special Projects Analyst at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, as the National Scholarship Manager for the American Consulting Engineers Council Research Foundation, and as Director of Marketing and Development for the Canterbury School.

Ms. Vassallo is a native of Southern Maryland and a graduate of Towson University.
