Gordon H. Ragan, Inc. Relocates Operations to Calvert County Industrial Park

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md., -- July 6, 1999 -- The Calvert County Economic Development Authority (EDA) announced today that Gordon H. Ragan, Inc. will relocate their Southern Maryland operations on lot 42, a three acre lot at the Calvert County Industrial Park.

Gordon H. Ragan, a Calvert County resident, is a masonry contractor specializing in school construction. Ragan will bring several new jobs to Calvert County. The company is expected to relocate to Calvert County in October and is expected to construct an 11,000 square foot facility. The company serves the entire Southern Maryland area.

"We are relocating to the Calvert County Industrial Park because the Park is conveniently located, gives us better access to our customers and I hope to expand our business base in Southern Maryland" said Gordon Ragan, President.

The Calvert County Industrial Park consists of 226 acres divided into 42 lots. The park is the largest full-scale industrial park in the County, is designated as one of 13 Maryland Enterprise Zones in the State, and is the only Enterprise Zone in Southern Maryland. The average lot size is 2.5 acres. The Park is located five miles west of Prince Frederick and 32 miles from the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The Free Land Incentive Program is available for qualifying firms attempting to relocate to Calvert County. Program was developed by the EDA to attract technology firms to Calvert County, to stimulate economic activity, increase employment opportunities for Calvert’s citizens, and introduce the County’s target industries to an alternative business location in the Greater Washington Region. To qualify for the Free Land Incentive Program, companies must demonstrate that they fall within the County’s target market industries, meet the predetermined set of criteria and match one of the Standard Industrial Classifications (SIC) identified as a target market industry by Calvert County.
