Dominion Cove Point is located on the Chesapeake Bay in Lusby. It is one of the nation's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) import facilities.
Cove Point Liquefaction Project
A major project is now underway to add new natural gas liquefaction and export facilities at the Dominion terminal. The construction of the export project, which is estimated to cost between $3.4 billion and $3.8 billion and be completed in 2017, will create thousands of skilled construction jobs, 75 permanent jobs and an additional $40 million in annual tax revenue for Calvert County.
Expansion Project Business Opportunities
A website is available to help local businesses participate in the proposed expansion of the Dominion Cove Point LNG facility. Suppliers, subcontractors, construction product retailers and local businesses that would like the opportunity to work on the project can visit online for more information.
IHI-Kiewit Cove Point, the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the project, has held local informational meetings on how businesses can participate in the project. Other meetings may be scheduled, though you can view the meeting presentation (PDF).
